White Widow Strain Review

White Widow Strain Background

Today we bring you a old school classic the White Widow strain review.  This strain was bred by Amsterdam greehouses back in the 1990’s.  It won the High Times Cannabis Cup in 1995.  White Widow is pretty much a codominant hybrid strain with a 60% Indica and 40 % Sativa ratio.  Also delivers up to a 19% THC level.

As a result of my previous experiences with this strain, White Widow is some good cannabis with good genetics.  This strain is an old school Amsterdam classic and has been around a long time

From what  I was told the nutrients used for tthe plant used for this review were water fed. The strain I tried was organic and had excellent bud structure that was well developed.  I am anticipating a better experience then previous ones in the past.

In this review we are going to take atthis cannabis strain in four ways.  The four ways are appearance, smell, taste, and effects.

Appearance

From first look it appears the buds didn’t come undeveloped but actually quite bushy.  The buds have quite an old school classic look which is explained by this strain being nearly 25 years old.  Compared to my previous experiences these buds lost none of the structure or fluffness.  This time around it retained both structure and fluffiness all around the bud.

I can also see a lot of pistols.  As I looked under the buds the pistols were actually a bit different in color.  They have a more sort of faded golden brown shade to them.  Rather the the sort of bright vibrant golden.  These buds were cut really well as there’s not many leaves coming off of it.

The color of it is a really light green stroke why? I can see trichomes on there, although to be honest, it’s, not looking for ticularly covered in trichomes. The interesting thing about this bug is that the pistols are on overdrive, so I would say that out of everything they are the most apparent thing and when you compare that to some of the other buds that I try where you can barely see the pistols, this Is looking really different is reasonably dense and compact, especially considering it’s? Only water fed the nuts and aren’t loose.

The calyxes aren’t loose on this, but it’s not coming apart. Now it’s on to the smell.

Smell

Now let’s talk about the smell of the white widow cannabis, strain.

As mentioned before this strain is really old school.  It has sort of the traditonal weed smell unlike all the new strains around today.  As a matter of fact I found it difficult to gauge all the different notes and complexities of the wild.  What I got was a sweet earthy smell.

The smell had a hint of haze, with slight sweet undertones.  If you put this under my nose and told me that it was a white widow haze cross, then I I probably be able to believe that this is the sort of scent that I smell years ago before I even know knew what weed..

This is what good weed smelled like back in the day and holds up well even today.  For me it’s smells absolutely lovely with a sweet woody aroma. Probably best described as a strong sweet earthly smell to it.

When ground up that earthy moodiness comes out even more.  It smells really good and the strain I used was purely organic.  So I am expecting a nice and smooth smoke but stay tuned for the taste to see if I am correct.

Taste

As it should be the taste portion of this White Widow Strain review is my favorite.  So keep reading and hopefully I catch you on the other side.

The first hit I got a strange taste towards the end.  It’s didn’t affect the acridity and it didn’t affect on the exhale but got a little bit of a a strange taste like maybe a contaminant,  So I will chalk up this up tomaybe something getting in there when rolling the joint.

So I rolled up another joint and this second one of white widow gave me a better idea of the flavor.  I got a woody earthiness that came through. Actually was a really nice and quite different cannabis taste to a lot of the strains that I’ve been enjoying recently. This has got an additional woody note to it and that’s, really nice actually to taste.

A very old-school sort of taste reminds me a bit like that. The Bubblegum sort of flavor taste is nice.  It’ got a lot of intensity and was an enjoyable experience so plus months from me on the taste.

The flavor or taste matched the smell pretty well on this old school strain.  So let’s continue on with the effects.

Effects

Now let’s talk about the White Windows effects. The first thing that hit me is this sort of relaxation from the indica side. Felt it in my body. Definitely feeling like a body stone.

This hit me pretty hard and quick since a sort of had an empty stomach.  HAd just some toast and coffee for breakfast so the effects could have hit me a little harder.

Definitely feeling this. The 20 % THC wowza, hitting two bombs of that. I’m feeling the effects of that one. It’s making me feel a little bit spicy and just generally like I’m fine, it difficult know what to say yeah.

So it’s. Obviously, having a strong impact on me in conclusion. This is definitely got me feeling nice and high.

White Widow Strain Review Summary

White widow is a strain which, despite being a little bit older, has won those cannabis cup for a reason. It has good genetics in terms of the appearance. It looked good in terms of the bud structure.

There were lots of pistols there.  Not sure why there are more pistols than I am used to seeing could be a genetic thing or the way it was grown.  Could even be that it was grown organically I can’t say for sure and is probably best left to the experts.

In terms of the smell it smelled really nice with sweet woody earthy notes. Was sweeter than I remember what we don’t ever smell it in this particular phenotype in terms of the taste either. One of those experiences that you get on the odd occasion.

The first round of the white widow organic didn’t, go down so well.  As I mentioned before I believe it was my fault by somehow getting contaminated. So of course I immediately did a second round,, so I could get a better picture of the flavor.   I am glad I did as it tasted really good.

The second time around got the woody notes come from it and I sleep through the chums.  Wow I certainly feit it.  I don’t know how I looked at the moment but I know I was smiling.

White Widow is a beautiful strain. This strain has a long history and is award winning.  Definately worth a try and will probably be around for a long time.  Which is a testament to it’s overall quality.  But why take my word for it try it for yourself!
