Welcome back, today we are doing a Blue Dream Strain review.

Blue Dream is a wonderful strain. I picked up this batch last week and have been saving it with anticipation for this review. So as always we are gonna cover the smell, appearance, taste, and the effects of this cannabis strain. But first let’s go over some of the background for this strain to get a better understanding of it.

Unfortunately the history behind the Blue Dream strain is very murky. It’s believed that it was birthed in Santa Cruz, CA. Blue dream first made a name for itself in the the medical community. This strain is known for it’s full-body relaxation with gentle cerebral invigoration. Newbies and veterans enjoy this strains calm euphoria effects so it’s not hard to see why it has achieved legendary status among West Coast Strains.

Eventually Blue Dream caught the attention of legendary breeder DJ Short who has worked to give us the current version of this strain that we have today. Blue Dream was supposedly created by crossing strains Blueverry with Haze. This strain is Sativa dominant with a THC levels going up to as high as 24%. Beware as there are many different strains of Blue Dream so be careful and check if it’s what you are looking for. An example is I have seen Indica dominant strains of Blue Dream out there.

Appearance

Upon first glance this particular batch of Blue Dream has been trimmed incredibly well. There are no bits of leaves that need to be removed. The green on this strain is actually very similar to some of the other cannabis strains I have sampled lately.

Now looking closer I can see that the bud has large dense bright green nugs with amber and blue hairs. The nugs appear to havea fine layer of sandy milky white trichomes with a sticky resin. This strain looks very potent from just it’s appearance.

This batch has been grown really well in terms of structure. The buds are nice and dense. Also buds are crisp and dry. From what I have read the nugs on Blue Dream are usually dense and bell shaped kinda like little boulders. Also read that this batch matches up in color as well as it’s known for it’sbright green color with vibrant orange pistils.

What we’re going to do next is togo over the smell of the Blue Dream cannabis strain.

 
 

Smell

Let’s crack open this jar and see how this particular phenotype smells. According to what I have read I am apparently getting the smells I should be. First whiff I am getting a sweet and berry type smell kinda similiar to blueberries I guess.

Smell on Blue Dream is quite smooth not too gassy at all. Probably one of the best smelling strains I have had in awhile. Well let me grind this up and see if I can get some different aromas.

After grinding up this strain still got that sweet and floral berry aroma. But I also got some hints of citrus and maybe sandalwood I am thinking from the Haze strain. I couldn’t really be more impressed with the smell of this Blue Dream strain.

Just opening up this jar and getting a big whiff has been a highlight for me

 
 

Taste

Now for my favorite part of a review the tasting. Much like the smell Blue Dream’s flavor is of a floral berry. It has sort of a grape and flower taste to it. Some expressions are heavy on the floral with a almost lavender note.

This is a really nice strain. Blue Dream was a bit less sommoth on the inhale then I expected. I was expecting a totally smooth taste based on the smell but what I got wasn’t completely smooth. It’s still a very lovely strain. It just got to me a little bit, but I was able to punch through. I felt like a needed to cough so as a result I probably didn’t get to enjoy the full flavor of Blue Dream. So your experience could be different then mine. But this strain was still very tasty.

Others have described similar flavor profiles as me. From what I have read most describe sugar and blueberry flavors. Kind of like a candy lollipop with some spicy aftertastes.

Blue Dream has delicious flavors of blueberry and sugar that are long lasting. These flavors stay in the air and on your tongue long after the smoke has gone. I really did like the taste of this strain. I wantto try it again to see if what I experienced was a fluke. Maybe we will save that for another time.

Effects

The effects of Blue Dream hit me pretty quick. This is certainly a strong cannabis strain. I can feel the elation of the cerebral high as it starts to kick in and I think I have a permanenet smile on my face. I am also experiencing just a happy sort of creativity, a bit of a buzz. So I think Blue Dream can be good for people that need a lift. This strain is strong so probably no need to do a bomb as big as I did but hey I am feeling quite a bit relaxed now.

This strain also affecting my sense a bit as well. It seems to totally enhance my senses. I feel like I can literally crack straight on with everything that I need to do. This strain is a perfect example of creative caliber strain.

Now I will go over the effects I have read and heard others have had with this strain.

The effects of Blue dream combine the best of the Indica and Sativa worlds. Most users report a fast onset of light cerbral stimulation. This feeling later eases into a strong deep full body relaxation.

A lot of people use this strain in the daytime due to it’s calming and realxing effects. It leaves them functional enough to remain productive, social, and motivated. Some users have even reported slightly more dominant Indica like efects which may be caused from all the different phenotypes as I mentioned before.

 
 

Blue Dream Strain Review Summary

I am really liking this strain. This is a really solid all around cannabis strain.

Appearance-wise Blue Dream has very bright green, sometimes sagey-colored buds. Also has yellow and orange pistils that are frosty and totally coated in THC trichomes.

The flavors and aromas of the Blue Dream strain are reminiscent of its heritage. Think strong berry aromas from the Blueberry, coupled with the notable sweet tones from the Haze. Some users may also detect subtle hints of pine, or possibly even herby, slightly grassy undertones.

We would recommend Blue Dream as a daytime or early evening choice. This strain provides a great way to take the edge off of the day and relax the mind and body for a restful night of sleep as it’s effects decline.

Don’t let the name Blue Dream fool you into thinking it’s a couch locked high. This strain is a perfect blend of it’s Bluberry and Haze heritage. It takes all Bluberry and Haze best attributes and combines them into something really unique. Blue Dream is perfect for getting through creative projects or even just a mood boost.
