Appearance

Let’s talk about the appearance of this cannabis strain right off the bat.

I can tell you right off the bat that this is a lovely bit of bud. I love the shape of this particular nug as it protrudes in all directions. All the
calyxes drift away from the mass of the bud. Something I found interesting with this bud is the coloration.

Looking at this strain there are brown and orange colors mixed in with green. This particualr batch had more brown color than orange. The pistols in this batch are out in full force. They had a sort of big and wild look to them.

They sort of look like the collectors have almost grown over them. Has a very nice green color to them. This particular bud has a very good trim to it. The shape is lovely with a very high denisty to it. The denisity is almost rock solid. There is a bit of give to it but is very dense. Really just a nice looking bud if I say so myself.

 

Smell

Now it’s time to crack open this jar and get a sniff of this strain. Initially the smell is not terribly strong. True to it’s age it has a kind of old school smell to it.

This strain has got an incredible amount of pungency that you get in the skunk plant. It’s kind of like a a smoother or a cleaner pungency than you get from those truly skunky strains, but it has got that smell to it.

It has got a slight gasp. It sort of seeping into my nostrils, along with the pungency it’s got this boom that kicks in. I call the smell gassy kind of jet fuel type that goes straight into the nostrils.

The more you smell this strain the gassier it gets. It does start to literally smell like it’s name Diesel. It’s ironic because like I mentioned before when I first cracked open the jar there wasn’t much smell to it. But once I took the bud out and started smelling the center of it that Diesel smell started kicking in.

When ground up there is an extra little scent to it. Still got that pungent gassy diesel smell to it with a hint of lemon. Smells like I could be putting this stuff in my truck LOL.

 

Taste

It’s now time for the best part the review. How does this beauty taste.

In my honest opinion you need a vaporizer to get a good, accurate idea of the flavor of your cannabis.  That’s exactly what we used for this review of Sour Diesel.

The flavor profile that we got was sour and skunky with some gassy notes. Sour Diesel is known for a harsh smoke that often induces coughing and it held true when we tried it. The potent aroma of the smoke lingers in the air and the flavor lingers on your palate.

There is a strong sort of piercing pungency and gas that just comes through in the first hit of the bong. The gas is so strong it makes my eyes water. As mentioned eariler as well it definitely made me cough as well as it’s known to do.

This strain has a really nice flavor. It tastes like diesel mixed with weed mixed with gas mixed with skunk. That’s the best way I can describe the flavor profile.

Effects

Now let’s talk about the effects of Sour Diesel. The strain we tried was strong from the first inhale. I think we started to feel the impact after the first hit. Just a matter of minutes.

Sour Diesel in our experience has more of the Sativa Effects with some slight Indica ones. We felt particularly chipper and uplifted and it only got stronger as we smoked.

This Strain is known and loved for its fast-hitting and cerebral effects. It is a great daytime strain that will energize and uplift and it definitely lived up it’s reputation.

While Sour Diesel will definitely perk you up it is a little dreamy which can make it difficult to focus at times. With that said this strain can also often include creative bursts of energy and ideas. We had an enjoyable experience that could make for more lively social situations or just make your day a little better.

Due to it’s high THC levels a little Sour Diesel can go a long way. We highly suggest new users should start slow to avoid over consumption which therefore could lead to anxiety and paranoia.

 

Sour Diesel Strain Review Summary

There are some strains that are suited for chilling at home. In my humble opinion this is probably not one of those strains. Sour Diesel actually sped me up a bit so the Sativa side shines through the most.

The appearance of this strain is very,very nice. For sure we give Sour Diesel good marks on appearance.

When we broker up the jar the smell was absolutely fantastic.Initially we didn’t get much smell but maybe the sample we had was a bit older. The smell got stronger as we started handling the buds.  I still remember the distinct gasoline-like odour from this fabulous strain.

I really enjoyed the smoking experience and the taste of the strain in all areas.  The flavor was skunky and sour with strong gassy notes.

This strain got me super high and pretty quick. Got me chatty and bouncing around a bit. Effects hit me in waves started with the uplift then chattiness and some bursts of creativity. Still loving the strength of this strain.

The Sour Diesel strain is stronger than I anticipated and I got pretty stoned. So all I want to do is give props, Sour Diesel is a really good strain in terms of his genetics and this sample has been done really well. I’ve really enjoyed this review.
